Dear friends, please help out on how to use POWER PCB( PADS) opening PROTEL PCB files. Thanks a lot in advance!

Install ddb2pcb.exe in PADS2005 files.
Start > Programs > PADS latest release > PCB Layout > Protel PCB translator

Click Translate designs to convert Protel design files to PADS Layout design files.

Click Translate libraries to translate Protel libraries to PADS libraries.

In the Files to translate area, click Add to add Protel design files or libraries to the list box.

Tip: If you accidentally add incorrect files to the list, select the file and then click Remove.

In the Place translated files in area, in the Designs box, type the location in which to place translated design files.

In the Place translated files in area, in the Libraries box, type the location in which to place translated library files.

Choose an option from the Overwrite existing files list to determine how to handle duplicate files:

Click Yes to overwrite existing files.

Click Ask to be prompted on how to proceed if duplicates are encountered.

Click No to leave the existing file unchanged. The source file is not translated.

Click Preserve net colors to preserve Protel net colors in PADS Layout.

Tip: Net colors in PADS Layout apply to nets and unroutes as well as pads, vias, and coppers. Therefore, the resulting colors may not match the original Protel design exactly since Protel net colors only apply to nets and unroutes.

Click Rename layers to rename Protel layers to PADS Layout layers.

Click Merge adjacent coppers to take multiple adjacent coppers in the Protel design and merge them into a single copper in the resulting PADS Layout design. This speeds up graphics performance in PADS Layout.

Click Translate.
