.From the Window menu, choose Database Spreadsheets. Select Nets in the Select Data Window dialog box and choose the OK button.
.Select the nets you want to assign to the plane.
.From the right mouse button pop-up menu, choose Modify. The Edit Net dialog box displays.
.Choose Net Layers to display the Layers Enabled for Routing dialog box, then select GND or POWER in Plane Layers to assign the nets to the appropriate plane.
.Choose the OK buton to close the Layers Enabled for Routing dialog box, then choose the OK button to close the Edit Net dialog box.
.To split the plane, place a DETAIL obstacle on the plane layer. This divides the plane and gives it the desired width.
.When you place the parts, make sure the parts with POWER and GND nets are placed on separate sides of the board. When you run a dispersion route, it places vias to the plane layer. All nets assigned to the plane will thermal to the plane regardless of which side of the plane they are on.
.You should carefully check thermals. One way to make checking thermals easier is to change the color of the nets in the Nets spreadsheet to unique colors. This is the color that the thermal relief uses.
